3 Apps For Scoring The Best New Year's Babysitter

by Anne Middleton, on December 29th, 2015

Have you booked your babysitter for New Year’s Eve yet?  It might be more expensive this year, especially if you’re living in New York City.  Sitters in the area are charging $60 per hour. Though the holiday rate is steep, many in New York see it as proof of dance of supply and demand, and are willing to pay the rates.  Babysitting agencies have modeled their pricing after Uber’s surge pricing models.  Here’s how to hire a babysitter online.

1.  Urban Sitter—Find this app on Google Play and load it onto your new Samsung Galaxy Note5 from T-Mobile.  Sitters on Urban Sitter have a background check, infant and child CPR certification, Spanish-speaking babysitters, special needs skills and more.

2. Care.com—Have multiple needs besides childcare?  Care.com connects you to pet sitters and senior caregivers too.  Check it out on Google Play.  Nearly 4.7 million adults receive care at home and if you’re caring for someone at home, you owe it to yourself to get out from time to time too.

3. Sitterberry—Featured in the Apple app store, you can pay your sitter via Paypal and keep a roster of available sitters that you like.  Load it onto your new iPad from Verizon and then go dance the night away!

With New Year’s Eve days away, be sure you don’t find yourself overpaying for a sitter because you’ve waited til the last minute.  Book now and save.  We don’t have a babysitting agency but we do have great discount codes for mobile devices and services that you can use to save.  Happy New Year!
