Doppelgänger Discovery

by Anne Middleton, on September 14th, 2015

Doppelgangers have inspired fascination throughout time.  The word “doppelganger” had its first known use in 1851 and literally means “double–goer”, an apt for description for two people who are unrelated and look eerily alike.  Doppelgangers have been enshrouded in fables for centuries.  Some believe that your doppelganger is a paranormal double, akin to a specter.  Others purport that your doppelganger is your evil twin.  A morbid theme follows doppelgangers as well: seeing yours may be the harbinger of impending death.  Mass communications has made it easier for you to encounter your doppelganger of the non-ghostly variety.  There are sites and apps dedicated to helping you find your non-related twin.

Montreal-based photographer Francois Brunelle has been snapping artful pictures of unrelated people who look like each other for more than 12 years.  Another project, the Twin Strangers Project is active on Facebook and claims that there are 7 people in the world that look like you.  The site uses Facebook plug-in to help you share a profile if you think you know a person’s twin too.  What twinning-s could you discover on your new LG Leon LTE from T-Mobile?  Apple user will also enjoy the Doppelganger Finda in the Apple app store.  Load it onto your new iPhone from Verizon.  You’ll snap a facial recognition photo and then the app will generate matches and rank them by percentage of similarity.  Both T-Mobile and Verizon have great incentives using our codes, so discover your evil twin using a new device today.

If you’ve ever wondered if there’s another “you” out there, or you frequently get stopped by people saying that “they’ve seen you somewhere before” perhaps it’s time to discover your doppelganger.  Not always an omen of bad luck, meeting your doppelganger is sure to be an eye-opening experience!  Our codes can help your discover your twin!
