Engagement Season Is Upon Us
Engagement season is upon us, singletons. The time between Thanksgiving and New Year’s Day is one of the most popular times to pop the question. Are you eyeing a bedazzling ring for your honey? Here’s your shopping guide.
Do you know the 4 Cs? Clarity, cut, color and carats are the first four considerations when spending on a diamond.
Clarity—All diamonds have tiny imperfections. Look for an “eye clean” diamond, meaning the imperfections are not visible to the unaided eye.
Cut—Arguably a gem’s most important characteristic, the cut gives the diamond its sparkle.
Color—Almost all diamonds have color that can be detected by an expert gemologist. Higher valued diamonds have a lack of color.
Carats—Carats are a measure of weight, but not necessarily size. Also consider the millimeters across the top of the diamond and the grade of the cut.
