Harry & David Save Easter
Sometimes you bite off more than you can chew. Sometimes you agree to host Easter lunch three days before Easter. Sometimes you learn that you’ll have thirty or more guests at said lunch. And sometimes both of your children get sick just hours after taking that giant bite. What’s a girl to do?!
I decided I could handle it one of three ways: 1) panic, 2) cancel, or 3) figure it out. Option 2 was out of the question because several family members were already en route, coming from the far corners of the country. With two options remaining, I’d love to tell you that I immediately leapt into figure-it-out-mode, but that wouldn't be entirely true. Although my panic did not manifest in the fetal-position-thumb-sucking thing or the paper-bag-breathing thing, I did do the frantic-and-fruitless-pace-around-the-house-lamenting-aloud thing. “I can’t take my sick kids to the grocery store. It’ll take me two hours minimum. They’ll be wailing. They might be vomiting. I’ll feel horrible. I’ll forget half of what I need because I need EVERYTHING. Where will I put the groceries? The kids will be laying in the cart. Can I push two carts? I can’t even think about the loading and unloading process. And what about my house? It’s a mess! I need to do a deep clean. But I also need to cook. And did I mention MY BABIES ARE SICK?!” Yeah. I went there. To psycho land. But then I came back and remembered the internet. Everything is deliverable these days, right?
When my search led me to Harry & David’s, I knew I had found the answer to my prayers. I could order the entire meal, appetizers to dessert, and get wine and flowers at the same time. Hallelujah! The Gourmet Ham Dinner covered all the bases. It’s pre-cooked, delivered to your door, and all you do is heat it up. I ordered the prime rib and northwest smoked salmon to appease the varied palates, the red and white wine trio, and the vibrant brassica bouquet for the centerpiece. I happily paid for expedited shipping and whacked 20% off my total with a Harry and David coupon from PromoCodesForYou.com! And I still have two days left! I can focus on nursing my children back to health before the Easter Bunny arrives, and now, instead of slaving away in the kitchen, I can enjoy my company for the precious few hours we have together. So Harry & David saved Easter AND my sanity!
