World Naked Gardening Day

by Anne Middleton, on May 8th, 2015

We’re always curious about weird and cooky observances and the first Saturday of May is a special one indeed:  World Naked Gardening Day.  If you’ve ever longed to return to the innocent pleasures of Ed, if you’ve ever felt encumbered in your gardening by galoshes and gardening gloves, then World Naked Gardening Day might be for you.  NBC's Today News says that WNGD "has become an annual tradition that celebrates weeding, planting flowers and trimming hedges in the buff. While it’s linked to a movement of nudists who promote wholesome and unashamed acceptance of the human body, the day is meant to be funny, lighthearted and non-political, founders say."  Well, that’s enlightening.

Supposedly, gardening naked is not a new thing.  Besides the Biblical component, a few documented naked gardening enthusiasts are Alicia Silverstone and Edna St. Vincent Millay.  Whoa… If you are interested in celebrating this bohemian holiday, there are some great apps that might be of interest to you.  On Google Play, you can access the Nudist Compass, an app that helps you find the nearest nudist and naturists haunts around you.

Even if nude gardening isn’t for you, there’s some really great gardening apps you can explore --nude or not.  On your new Verizon Iphone 5c, you can load Moon Gardening, an app that helps you to coordinate your gardening with the lunar cycle.  Get free shipping and $50 off select phones and devices when you use our codes—au natural or not!  T-Mobile also has great deals too.  Get $0 down and free shipping on most phones.  You can upgrade to the Samsung Galaxy 6 S!  We won’t tell if you load the Nudist Compass app!

Nude gardening probably isn’t for all us—too many bug bites and thorns.  However, having a good phone doesn’t have to prune away at your savings.  Use our codes to save a bundle to reinvest in fertilizer and apps and clothes (or not).
